Located in the southern Northern Territory, the impressive Gosses Bluff meteor crater is 5 km (3 mi) in diameter, with a rim height of 200 m (656 ft). The site is known as Tnorala to the Western Arrernte Aboriginal people, and is a sacred place.

Gosses Bluff Crater is thought to be the eroded remnant of an impact crater. It is located in the southern Northern Territory, near the centre of Australia. The original crater is thought to have been formed by the impact of an asteroid or comet approximately 142 million years ago. The site is known as Tnorala to the Aboriginal people of the Western Arrernte language group, and is a sacred place.

Interesting place to go for a detour if you have a 4wd. You can drive to the center of the crater, which is pretty steep. And this place has the best name!

Spectacular old meteor crater that appears out of no where. 4WD track in. A few short walks to do inside the park, but just recommend taking in the serenity inside.
