Stunning place to hike around. So many more palms then I originally thought. You would definitely need a 4wd with a decent clearance for the one way track through to the valley. I am glad I didn’t give this place a miss and had a lovely short tour with the ranger. Kelly was very informative and did great considering it was her second tour she’s done.

It takes a bit to get to Palm Valley on the track so take your time, vehicle clearance is the key before you start as there are quite a few rocks to manoeuvre over & around. But at the car park end you will be rewarded as the walk is a delight. I would recommend staying at the campground so you could explore more as we came in for a day trip exploring the West Macs. It was dark when we got back to the Highway. Such A little oasis seeing all the Palm trees along the river bed was a huge surprise and blended in nicely. You get a good view from above after climbing a few stairs. Yes it’s of the beaten track but if you have the time, it’s definitely worth the effort.

Nice campsite, but the Palm Valley Walk is the reason to come here - amazing! The 4km track from the campsite to the trail head is rough, but was very doable in a high clearance 4WD (lo range) when we visited back in October

Pretty area with a fun little drive in through some rocky tracks (high clearance 4wd strongly recomended). There are two options for walks into the palm valley at the end of the drive, we completed the shorter of these walks which we enjoyed. One word of warning, we backed right up to the edge of the bush making sure we were leaving others plenty of room to park whilst not blocking anyone in. There is an inconsiderate tour bus driver in the area who despite having a whole large rock shelf descided to park sideways across the front of our car in such a way that we had to back into the bush and complete a multi point turn to be able to squeeze out.

Palm valley is a remote hidden gem. Bumpy, slow 4WD track makes it hard to get to but so rewarding. A variety of walks to do. Not enough water to swim there currently, but the trees and landscape keep things cool. No bathrooms, nearest are at campground.

Great little valley of prehistoric Palm trees, ok 4WD dirt road into the camp grounds, rough 4WD track into the valley, suitable for high ground clearance 4WD only.
Or 4 klm walk from the camp grounds, worth the effort.
Usually a bit of water around depending on how much rain there has been.
Good toilets and showers at the camp grounds.

Stunning scenery and some beautiful walks. Great camping area and good facilities. The drive to the valley is definitely high clearance 4WD over rock shelves but worth it. Sunrise and sunsets from some of the walk lookouts are spectacular.

Lovely tour with Emu Run out of Alice. VERY ROUGH TRACK now after floods brought in much deep sand and destroyed track in lots of areas. Our tour was in large high 4wd purpose built vehicle. Must have high clearance 4wd or you won't make it!
Beautiful scenery once in park.
A lot of walkway covered in sand in the valley, but still walkable. Came on a Toyota standard height 4wd bogged in deep sand. Ranger pulled them out.
