We applaud Steve Harris Custom Excavating for his professional knowledge in the excavating field. From the ground breaking land development to finish grade he went above and beyond all expectations...including footings and septic system development.
I'm a retired land developer and custom home builder of 45 years. Steve is one of the best I have seen in the many years of my building experience.
He was always on schedule and very accommodating when additional work was needed such as temp power pole prep, utility diches, and water line installation to building site.
My wife and I highly recommend Harris Custom Excavating!

I have begun the long, tedious process of building my own home in Ridgway, CO. The first major step is excavating the land. And it is a very challenging lot with a steep hill. I was so very fortunate to find Steve Harris. He was quick to respond. Met me at the site. Gave me advice and options. And began work exactly when he said he would. I was amazed at how quickly he and Alex transformed our lot into a built site. It was perfectly ready for the concrete crew. Once the foundation was finished, he was right back to work on time. If only my other sub contractors were as efficient, reliable, helpful, and friendly. Thank you Steve for helping me get this project off on the right foot.

Steve and Alex put in two culverts for me then later came in and did a circular drive in front of my new house. In both cases they came quickly and did the work in a timely manner. Steve is a good ol boy at heart! Due to the urgency of my situation , he showed up early and made the job happen in the snow by himself. His experienced hands with his machines are remarkable! Not one mistake all day in a tight work space! What a godsend steve was for me . He hit a grand slam when I needed it the most! His honest ethics surprised me. What integrity steve has! Thank you so much for your above and beyond service, you were worthy of every penny!
